A Terrazzo & Terracotta Kitchen Remodel in Dallas, TX
I am so excited to finally share the completed photos of this terrazzo and terracotta kitchen remodel in Dallas, TX!
We first introduced this colorful mid-century kitchen last year when we shared renderings and the original floor plan challenges. Now that the construction dust has settled and photography is in, we’re diving into all the materials, design choices, and favorite details that made this space a total transformation. (Missed the renderings and before photos? You can check out the original project overview here.)

Inside this Bold Kitchen Remodel in Dallas, TX
We knew this kitchen remodel in was going to be extra special, but even we weren’t prepared for just how good it turned out. This space exceeded all of our expectations, and I’ve been counting down the days to share the final reveal!
The true star? Those custom teal terrazzo countertops. Bold, playful, and completely one-of-a-kind - they bring so much personality and charm to this mid-century Oak Cliff cottage. I’m endlessly grateful for clients who trust the vision enough to let us create something this fun and fresh.

Even though we leaned into rich, saturated tones for this kitchen remodel, the final space feels bigger, brighter, and more inviting than ever before. One of the best design decisions we made was relocating the laundry and adding windows that now overlook the backyard.
Natural light floods the room from the south wall, bouncing off the terrazzo and terracotta finishes in the best way. It’s proof that you can go bold with your color palette and still have a light, airy, joy-filled space!

This Kitchen Looks Good and Works Hard
One of our biggest wins in this space? The abundance of counter space. By rethinking the layout, we were able to give our clients a spacious island and a peninsula—creating natural seating zones for both the sunroom and the dining room sides of the kitchen. Whether they’re hosting a dinner party or grabbing a casual breakfast, there’s room for everyone.
We also added fluted paneling to the island and range hood, just enough texture to add interest and rhythm without competing with the terrazzo countertops. It’s those quiet, considered details that make a kitchen feel elevated without shouting.

Our clients had their hearts set on terracotta floors from the very beginning - but true terracotta can involve a lot of sealing and maintenance they weren’t too keen on so we found the perfect solution with a porcelain lookalike that captures all the warmth and charm of the real thing. Not only does it deliver that rich, earthy tone they loved, but it’s also incredibly durable and low-maintenance, making it perfect for a busy kitchen. The warm red contrasts beautifully with the saturated teal cabinetry, making all the colors feel extra saturated and adding even more depth and personality.

This project was such a joy from start to finish, and we couldn’t be more thrilled with how it all came together. From the bold terrazzo to the warm terracotta floors, every detail tells a story—and we’re so grateful to have played a part in bringing this kitchen to life.
